About

Dylan Stone is a modern-day troubadour known for his prolific, timeless songwriting, with a career defined by a work ethic rooted in the belief that a song can make a difference. His wide-ranging career has led him to perform as direct support for artists including Keith Urban, Wide Mouth Mason, Sloan, Everlast and Alejandro Escovedo, and to share the stage with guitarists such as Colin James and Robert Randolph. Alongside an active touring schedule with his acoustic ensemble, The Unfaithful Servants, Stone is currently completing his next solo release, slated for 2026 — Truth In The Darkness — an intimate, self-produced record that further explores his song-first approach.

In 2025 Stone was active with his acoustic ensemble, The Unfaithful Servants, emerging as a must-see act on the Canadian roots circuit, praised for their instrumental mastery and exciting live shows. Their latest LP, Fallen Angel (October 2025), reached #8 on the International Folk Radio chart and #24 on the National College Radio chart, with Country Music News calling it

“a towering success, solidifying The Unfaithful Servants’ position not just as a leading act in the Canadian Americana scene, but as an essential voice in modern Newgrass.”

Following a busy Fall/Winter 2025 album-release tour with legendary folk artist Shari Ulrich, The Unfaithful Servants are set for a full Summer 2026 festival run, including appearances at the Cowichan Bluegrass Festival, Rockgrass (Colorado), Kluane Bluegrass Festival (Yukon), Energetic County Fair & the Victoria Folk Music Festival, with additional dates to be announced.

Stone is currently putting the finishing touches on his next solo release, Truth In The Darkness — a self-produced, nine-track album recorded in Victoria, BC at MARRS Audio. His most intimate work to date, the record settles into a warm, acoustic-leaning sound, rich with feeling, restraint, and groove. The songs reflect Stone’s deep command of songwriting craft, drawing from the lineage of writers like Neil Young and Tom Petty while remaining unmistakably his own. Truth In The Darkness feels less like a stylistic exercise and more like a personal document — honest, unforced, and quietly powerful.

Beyond performing and recording, Stone is the founder and artistic director of the Victoria Folk Music Festival. Long a personal dream, the festival became a reality in 2025, with Stone single-handedly producing, directing, and executing the event — from curating the lineup to setting up tents and hanging lights. The festival reflects the same values that define his music: authenticity, heart, and truth in song.

Stone can also be found performing in two projects rooted in reverence rather than nostalgia. In Legacy of Lightfoot, he takes a central role alongside JUNO-nominated artist Oliver Swain, celebrating the songs of Gordon Lightfoot — a project that began as a tribute following Lightfoot’s passing and has continued as an earnest act of preservation. In The Great Divide, Stone steps into the role of lead guitarist, performing the music of The Band — songs he grew up with and absorbed deeply, shaped in large part by the influence of Robbie Robertson, a formative voice in his development as a guitarist and songwriter. For Stone, playing this music is not an act of imitation, but of gratitude — a natural extension of his belief that music is communal, honest, and meant to endure.

Earlier in his career, The Unfaithful Servants earned a Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for New/Emerging Group of the Year with their self-titled debut album, recorded with Grammy-winning engineer Steve Smith. Stone’s 2019 solo EP, Everything I’ve Known, produced with Colin Stewart (Dan Mangan, Yukon Blonde, The New Pornographers), marked an evolution in his sound, blending heartland rock and roots influences in the vein of Ryan Adams and Wilco.

At his core, Dylan Stone is most at home on stage, guitar in hand — a songwriter with a deep respect for craft and tradition. Whether leading a band, supporting a legend, or building a festival from the ground up, his work is defined by integrity, curiosity, and a lifelong devotion to song.
